A slow walk toward a hidden woodland sanctuary, followed by an intimate session of exceptional craft and quiet hospitality at a family-run counter.
MOVEMENT III: THE SPIRITUAL | 閑
13:30 — 16:00 | Gotokuji — Shoin Shrine
Wandering through charming local streets to the hushed realms of ancient temple trees and shrines of learning and devotion.
MOVEMENT IV: THE RESONANCE | 穏
16:00 — 17:00 | Local Cafe — Setagaya Line — Gentle Ending

I am so thankful that I found Satoshi. Originally, I signed up for one of his night tours and then discovered that he also does day tours. His mantra is to provide local experiences to understand Japanese culture.
I spent two days with Satoshi. On day one we visited his neighborhood and was fortunate to experience the local flavor. This included a local park, supermarket, local sushi restaurant, and local coffee shop. We also went to the Gotokuji Temple which is also known as the cat temple. Just by its name you can imagine that there are all kinds of replicas of cats. Our final visit on day one was the City Hall where we saw city workers in action.
On day two, since I’m super interested in legal and civic affairs, Satoshi took me to the Metropolitan Police Department, where we saw the central room where the police gather all kinds of incoming calls. There was a film and museum along with the tour. Our next stop was a lunch spot right by the courthouse. After lunch, we went to see a couple of court cases in action. Since I am an attorney, I loved this
For our next visit, we went to the Imperial Palace, which was beautiful and super interesting to see. We then went to see the Supreme Court; we could not go inside, but we observed the beautiful building. Then we went to the national research library where are kinds of historical documents and books. Our final destination was an excellent research hospital, which we were able to get a feel for the medical system in Japan, which is excellent.
Well, all that I can say is WOW. I feel so fortunate that I found Satoshi as he was able to provide me exactly what I love about traveling . I love experiencing and learning about the local culture and lifestyles. It was an incredible experience.
I believe most tourists just go to all the sites and really never get an insight to local culture. Satoshi is one of a kind and if you find yourself in Tokyo, and want to experience local culture and Japanese society, you need to contact Satoshi. He is unique and provides excellent service
Finally, Satoshi is fluent in English. If you’re looking for a guide, Satoshi would be sn outstanding choice. He is fabulous!!

If we enjoy a meal together during the journey, we kindly ask guests to include the guide in the seating and cover their modest meal. If you would prefer to dine independently, please simply let us know in advance.
